Return to Industry: TechWeek Asia 2022

Written by Alfredo Garcia: December 1 2023

Two years ago I left my working life to do, as our government liked to say, to upskill. This was a decision I made to upgrade my skills. Hence, I left. That was in 2022, just as the lockdown happened.

As I prepared to graduate in March 2023, I wondered what I could do to get back in touch with the industry. It came during a tutorial, with my tutor suggesting we( the class) attend some free cyber security talk happening at Marine Bay Sands…an hour later while we were in Clementi, on the other side of the city I am pretty sure no one attended.

Still, it planted a seed back in my mind. During the lockdown all such events and conventions became virtual. After the exams, I would search, and find Tech Week Asia happening in the next month. So of course I signed up and went!

Also, given this was my first time back, hence my photography and social media skills are lacking. I did take some photos, but I should have taken more and checked to see if they were clear. I did not take a single picture of myself, or at the big signs at the entrance. A correction I would make at future events.

More posts regarding my trips will be upcoming!
